"the gathering"

"Prayer is powerful!
The Devil smiles when we make plans. He laughs when we get busy. But he
trembles when we pray - especially when we pray together.":
Corrie ten Boom, "Clippings From my
Notebook"
What?
At 8:00 pm on Sat., September 22nd, 2001 the youth
of the city are coming together at the Decatur High School Gym for the second
community-wide student prayer rally, "the
gathering".
Last year, at the first ever student prayer rally
we saw a great turn out, with over 600 youth coming together to pray for our community at
large.
Young people from churches all over Federal Way
and the surrounding communities will worship Jesus with a multi-church youth band, and
stand united in prayer for our schools, families, friends and community.
Who? YOU!
This is truly an "multi-church" event,
and you are the most important component. Youth pastors from seven different
churches have met together for the past three months planning and praying for this rally,
but it is the youth of the city who will make the difference. Our prayer time will
be led by students, not pastors because these are your schools and this is your future.
Why?
In 2 Chronicles 7:14 God tells that if we will
humble ourselves and call out to Him He will hear our cry and heal our land, and in James
5 that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. God hears us when we
pray, and we are going to stand together, united as the Body of Christ and call out to Him
to move in our schools.
